Summary: There is a story behind every villain, even the heartless ones. Before she was the cruel queen of hearts she was just a girl, a girl named Catherine. Catherine is the lucky girl who the king chose to be his queen, but she doesn’t want to be that girl. Catherine’s dream is to open a bakery with her best friend. But when a mysterious court joker arrives on the scene everything changes. Catherine quickly finds herself falling in love as the kingdom is ravaged by a vicious beast and is faced with great danger and peril.

Review: This book surprised me around every corner. It is an amazing, heart wrenching read. It is definitely a great young adult book.

Recommendation: 13 and up
